Perceptual Style Guide

 Perceptual Style Guide Program

Vega Behavioral Consulting

A Brief Description PS (Perceptual Style)

Perceptual Style Theory™ (PST) is a groundbreaking and transformative framework for understanding human perception and behavior. Developed by Gary Jordan, Ph.D., and Lynda-Ross Vega, PST reveals that our unique ways of perceiving the world shape our strengths, potential, and interactions with others.

The theory identifies six distinct Perceptual Styles™, which are innate and constant throughout life, to explain how we each assign meaning to the world, develop certain skills, and prefer specific types of interactions.

PST is a powerful and invaluable tool to help people understand and grow their strengths, gain awareness of natural human differences, and dramatically improve their communications and relationships.

It's easy to learn, easy to use, and exceptionally effective for personal growth and improved relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.  Understanding your Perceptual Style is like having a secret weapon to unlock your hidden strengths, deepen your relationships, and navigate life with a newfound sense of self-awareness and confidence.

A Brief Description of the PS Guide Training

The Perceptual Style™ Guide Program is ideal for organizations who want to incorporate the concepts and tools of Perceptual Style Theory™ into their  programs to assist individuals to secure and maintain employment.

The program consists of ten modules focused on the concepts of Perceptual Style Theory™, in-depth reviews of the six Perceptual Styles, detailed exploration of Perceptual Style Interactions, and proven techniques to help individuals claim their strengths and apply those strengths to secure and thrive in their jobs.

Each module consists of a 90-minute Zoom call, with focused topic presentation and discussion.  The modules are recorded and there is a private forum for course materials.

Perceptual style Guides are certified in the use of the Perceptual Style Assessment and Perceptual Style based strengths coaching.

3 Benefits of Being a Guide for Member Organizations

Becoming a Perceptual Style Guide enables organizations to tap into a deep well of human potential, shaping training, teamwork, and individual growth in profound ways.  Here are three significant benefits for organizations when they opt to become a Perceptual Style Guide:

  1. Tailored Strength-Based Training: With knowledge of the six distinct Perceptual Styles™, organizations can customize training and mentoring programs to align with an individual's innate strengths. This personalized approach not only boosts the effectiveness of skill development but also empowers individuals with confidence. By resonating with each person's natural way of perceiving the world, training becomes more impactful, allowing participants to truly own and master processes, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

  2. Optimized Volunteer Placement and Team Building: Harnessing the insights of Perceptual Style Theory™ extends beyond employment training. For volunteers, it becomes a game-changer. By identifying and understanding an individual's Perceptual Style, organizations can place volunteers in roles where they are most likely to excel and make meaningful contributions. With a clear grasp of how different styles interact, team dynamics can be fine-tuned, fostering enhanced collaboration, reduced conflicts, and improved overall communications.

  3. Certified Strengths Coaching: By having certified Perceptual Style Guides within the organization, there's a structured approach to strengths-based coaching. This not only reinforces the application of Perceptual Style insights but also ensures that individuals receive consistent, knowledgeable guidance in unlocking their potential.

3 Benefits of Providing this Service to Member Clients

Organizations that incorporate Perceptual Style Guides provide their clients with a holistic toolset that sets them on a path of success.

Here are three primary benefits the clients will experience:

  1. Enhanced Self-Awareness and Confidence: One of the challenges many job seekers face is a diminished sense of self-worth, often compounded by unemployment. With PST, clients gain a deeper understanding of their innate Perceptual Style, allowing them to recognize their inherent strengths and capabilities. This newfound self-awareness will boost their self-esteem, transform feelings of "unworthy" to recognizing and valuing their unique contributions. By understanding and embracing their natural strengths, clients not only bolster their self-confidence but also become more poised in navigating the job-seeking process.

  2. Strategic Job Pursuits Aligned with Strengths: The certified Perceptual Style Guides, with their in-depth knowledge from the training modules, are adept at helping clients identify roles that align with their Perceptual Styles. Instead of a scattergun approach, job seekers can target positions that capitalize on their innate strengths, increasing the likelihood of job satisfaction and longevity in a role. This tailored job search strategy can lead to more fulfilling roles where clients feel valued and competent, subsequently reducing turnover and enhancing job satisfaction.

  3. Improved Communication and Relationship Building: PST doesn't just provide insights for self-awareness; it also offers tools for understanding others. As clients gain insights into different Perceptual Styles, they become more adept at tailoring their communication to resonate with diverse audiences, including potential employers during interviews. This heightened communication capability also extends to their personal lives, enriching relationships with family, friends, and future co-workers. The ripple effect of these improved interactions can lead to better networking opportunities, supportive work environments, and stronger personal relationships.
